This review is from: DB DRIVE K712D4 Okur K7 Series Subwoofer (12-Inch) (Electronics)
Considering the K7 is considered to be second only to their K9 subwoofer, I'm definitely not impressed. I have a set of 6.5" DB Drive C5 components that I am very happy with, so figured I'd give the K7 subwoofer a chance. I paired it with a Hifonics HFi1500 amplifier, providing 1000w RMS @ 2ohm to the subwoofer. I gave it a few days to break in properly before turning it up. Even after the break in period, I was not impressed with the output at all. Didn't get nearly as loud as I had hoped, especially considering the higher power requirement.
The final straw was when I had an issue with the crossover for my components. One of the spools inside of the crossover came loose and was causing the speaker to cut out randomly. I e-mailed DB Drive and basically got a response of "eh, that sucks, tough luck". I then decided I didn't want to support this company, and promptly returned the K7 subwoofer.
Bottom line, you can do better for the price and for the power this sub requires (which generally means a more expensive amplifier as well).
