ok i had to post a review for all the haters. these speakers can not be beat for the price. dont be dumb and hook them up at 1 ohm. drop 1200 watts into them on a 4 ohm hookup and watch your car fall apart. i have 2 of these hooked up to a pyle mono 4600, pushing 1200 watts per speaker at 4 ohms. the box is a little small for them, so my lows are suffering, but that will be fixed soon. ported box, being ran by a kenwood deck. a friend of mine has 2 2k mephis 15s, and i drown him out when put next to each other. for a system that cost barely over 300 bux, its amazing. amp was 180 or so, since everyone thinks pyle is crap, and the speakers from boss that everyone thinks is crap. i think the biggest problem people have with all these new, cheap super powered woofers is they seem to love dropping them to 1 ohm. i blew my first 2 boss like that, same as these just the 12 inchers. got the 15s in and hooked them up at 4 ohms, with gain and bass boost at max, i cant throw enough at them. slammin at full volume and they'er barely extending. saddest part of it is for my 300 bux im makin people with 2000 dollar systems wish they had rethought the purchase. 5 star review for boss. hook it up right and you'll get many many noise polution citations.

OK, so I'm 24 and I've had subwoofers in my cars ever since my first one. I've had Sony's, Rockfords and Alpine Type R's. Most recently have been my Rockford's. The car they were in, I wrecked. I transfered the subs to my new car, and needless to say they were ruined. So being strapped for cash I began looking at new subs, coming across the Boss Phantoms.
I have just one 12 right one (to test it out) hooked up to my Rockford p3001 amp, putting out 500 RMS at 2 ohms. WOW. Just this one speaker, hits harder than my Rockfords, and for fifty bucks? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I'm highly impressed with the response, punch and loudness of the speaker. The only thing that I could say is towards probably about 40hz and down, they get unresponsive. They're rated to 25 hz I believe, but this isn't really a big deal to me. Other than that, I can't wait to throw another 12 in my trunk and let these bad boys rip my car apart. It's honestly, disgusting.

I bought 1 phantom 15 with matching phantom 1500watt amp and it bumps harder than my 18. The accuracy of the bass was amazing! Its cone and lining are very strong and moisture resistant. They look like $300 subs. But the true greatness was everybody hearing me drive down the road. I HAD a rearview mirror for like 3 hours, then it broke off, lmao! I highly recommend using 12gauge for wiring, anything less cuts out bass between amp and sub! Great buy!
