I had a buddy get one of these a few years ago and was amazed. This tube is extremely well made. The adjustments are easy to control with gloves on. The tube comes with 2 large zip ties to secure it to whatever you are hooking it to. It comes with a 12V plug that wires right to the battery. I am not using this but it is a option. I hook the audio jack into my waterproof ipod case and am ready to go. sometimes with the waterproof case it is hard to adjust the volume but with the adjustments on the tube it is not going to be a issue any more. Fast shipping due to being prime eligible!

Bought the ATVP-3000 used it in my boat, on my 4wheeler,and in my Mule 4010. Sounded very good and loud in the mountains and in the swamp. But it only worked for 8 months then the amp quit. Having trouble with the manufactors warrinating this item.

4.0 out of 5 stars Easy solution for music in your boat., August 28, 2012

This works pretty well in my older ski boat. I have a 1969' sidewinder low pro. If you know about these boats, you know that they require a bit of work to get a sound system in. I would have had to cut out a space for the stereo in the dash, which isn't meant to have a stereo in it. Then I'd have to to figure out places to put speakers (without any sort of encasement) Then I'd have to wire it all up. It was just more work than I wanted to do and probably not even sound that great due to the less than ideal speaker mounting situation.

This was the perfect solution. It installs very easy. I just slid it to the back of the closed bow where i store stuff like lifejackets and a paddle. It's totally out of the way and I lose no usable floor space. Being in the close bow creats a natural resonance for bass and boosts the sound even more.

I already had a 12 volt outlet so I just plugged it right in. It does come with its own 12 volt line to hook up to the battery but it is about 8 ft in length. I needed around 12ft to get it to the battery. So that means if I want to have an open 12 volt outlet while the stereo is plugged in, I'll have to move it closer to the battery, or lengthen the cord somehow. If I move the stereo closer to the battery, it will be taking up floor space, and probably not be in an idea sounding spot either.

The sound is very good. Obviously not a Bose and I would have expected more from two 8" woofers on the bass, but it does get very loud and stays pretty clear and it can hit fairly deep. I am playing mostly classic rock on this thing while the boat is in motion. I have a pretty loud motor so I have to turn it up pretty loud to hear over that, but I can hear it. It's great for playing music while beached though. I played a few jazz albums off the tablet and it sounded very nice and clear from 50 feet away on the shore.

All in all, I was expecting a little bit better bass and hoping that paying more than the similar system from Boss would be worth it. I'd have to listen to that to tell you how much better or worse it is, but it has good reviews. I'm guessing that it can get just as loud but not as much bass. I do still need to play with settings on the tablet/mp3 player, and maybe I can crank up the bass a little more. The onboard tone and volume (gain) control is very nice to have though.

Also, it's very solid build quality. Very strong material, I'm sure it can take a beating. I think if you have the cash, spring for this one over the other similar systems. If not, go for one of the cheaper ones and you probably will still be pretty happy with the sound and convenience.
